About Me

I’m Liz Gloor, a freelance editor based in the Pacific Northwest. For the past ten years I’ve called Seattle, WA, my home. Prior to that, I lived in New York, where I first began working for a Manhattan-based educational publishing company fifteen years ago. I spent the first five years of my tenure in-house, and I was lucky to retain the position when my husband and I relocated to Seattle. I hold a certificate in editing from the University of Washington, and I’m a member of the Northwest Editors Guild.

As a former Production Editor, I have a comprehensive understanding of the stages of the publishing process, from manuscript to final copy, and I’d like to share that knowledge with you. Whether you’re a first-time writer interested in self publishing your debut novel or a seasoned veteran hoping to secure representation, I’ll help you polish your work into its final form.

I first came to publishing because I love to read. Like many life-long readers, I can track the major moments of my life through the books I was reading at the time. From Ramona and Beezus in early elementary school (I was a Beezus) to Wuthering Heights in seventh grade (still chasing that high!) books have been a through line in my life. I have broad tastes, but these days my pleasure reading is mostly fiction, literary and genre alike. As an editor, I specialize in book club fiction, women’s fiction, and romance, but I’m always interested in broadening my horizons. I am a generous, good-faith reader, so please feel free to send me your thorniest work! I look forward to working with you.
